Modularity is an architecture argument dressed up as a movement.
The promise is simple: split the jobs a blockchain does — execution, settlement, data — and let specialists handle each. The cost is fragmentation, and fragmentation is felt by users as friction.
The interesting question isn't whether modular beats monolithic. It's whether the seams can be hidden well enough that nobody has to know the difference.
